With OTAs in the books, the Philadelphia Eagles won’t be practicing together again until July 25th. Though in the spirit of jumping the gun, that doesn’t mean we can’t begin to speculate on the final roster. The Eagles, currently at 90 players, will be forced to cut down to 53 in time for the regular season opener in September.

The process of determining the roster was made more difficult due to the tremendous amount of depth and possibility this team’s roster presents. There are going to be many painful cuts on the horizon, but such is life with the NFL’s roster rules.

Also to note, there is typically a flurry of bottom-end roster movement that takes place during the preseason, so there’s a chance some of the players on the current 90-man roster won’t be Eagles long enough to see a full training camp. Since I don’t have my crystal ball handy to see which moves are made, I’ll be using the current roster from OTAs.

With that said, let’s take a first look at the 2014 Philadelphia Eagles roster if the season started tomorrow.

I don’t think matthews makes the roster. He hasn’t really done much and and jason phillips is probably better. the same with brad smith. so far from what I’ve been hearing in camp benn has been far more impressive than smith but hey that could be just me.
We have a real logjam of guys at OLB. Graham, Braman, and Long are all trying to get one, maybe two roster

spots! I think we might go lighter on ILBs this year and get an OLB in there instead.
I would be surprised if barkley was cut because kinne is such a good practice-squadder (considering his versatility), and I still think barkley is better than sanchez even. I don’t think sanchez gets cut though.
