Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles is their personal Swiss Army Knife. He’s listed on the roster as a running back but it’s hard to label someone as versatile as he is. Like the Swiss Army Knife has many tools he can use. There are many names you can call him like multidimensional or multifaceted. But don’t call him a receiver. He bristles at that.

Yeah, that’s crazy, half the time I get my catches out of the backfield”-Darren Sproles

But his stats show something a little different. In his nine seasons in the NFL he has 437 carries for 2,221 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Conversely he has 378 career receptions for 3,381 yards and 27 receiving touchdowns. He has more career touchdowns than both Eagles wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper combined. And since 2007 he leads all NFL running backs with 375 receptions,3,371 yards and 27 receiving touchdowns.

To date, there are only seven other running backs in NFL history that have more than 27 receiving touchdowns. One of those is the Eagles own running back Brian Westbrook.
