Did the Eagles do Enough to Improve It's Defense?

As the Philadelphia Eagles entered into the off-season in January the big question on everyone’s mind was, “what will the Eagles do to improve their defense?” The last half of the season you could see the offense was dialed in with Eagles quarterback Nick Foles under center. But the defense was obviously lacking. They were improving each game but there were concerns. Did they do enough in the off-season to improve their defense?

They really needed a pass rusher. The needed a shut-down cornerback. They could use some help at safety.

Training camp begins tomorrow, (finally) and we will finally get to see the ensemble that Eagles head coach Chip Kelly and general manager put together this off-season. An earlier article voiced concerns about their first pick in the draft, Eagles outside linebacker Marcus Smith. It’s looking like he will need to develop more before he can make a sure impact.

The addition of veteran safety Malcolm Jenkins was a solid addition but will he be enough? Eagles cornerback Nolan Carroll, acquired from the Miami Dolphins, will play for a starting position.

What is missing? That one “it” player. The breakout man that has everyone talking. There isn’t one on the defensive squad.

What do you think?
