Earlier today Ian Rapport (@rapsheet) reported the St. Louis Rams have interest in Philadelaphia Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez. This interest comes on the news that Rams quarterback Sam Bradford will miss the entire 2014 season due to a torn ACL suffered last night against the Cleveland Browns.
Last week I posted an article that the Eagles could be interested in trading Sanchez. He’s put up some nice numbers this preseason and at the moment he’s locked up the backup quarterback position. Eagles fans felt pretty good about Sanchez’ performance. And they have rested easy knowing he was there.
But if the Rams are serious about trading for Sanchez, it’s going to be expensive. Maybe too expensive. The Eagles have been more than pleased with Sanchez’ performance this season. So it would be a hard sell for the Rams. There may be at least a second round draft pick involved. (Purely speculation of course.) And if you remember, the Rams chose to sign quarterback Shaun Hill over Sanchez during the offseason. The Rams are in a tight spot and there isn’t a clean fix for them.
This is loose talk and speculation at the moment. This is sure to get interesting in the next few days.
