Mark Sanchez could end up being the key off season signing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Sanchez currently sits as the number two quarterback on the Eagles’ roster, behind starter Nick Foles. In this position, he is the main back up for the most important player on the Eagles’ roster. If, for any reason, Nick Foles can’t go fo a game, it will be Sanchez that steps into the driving seat of the potent Eagles’ offense. The hopes and prayers of many Philadelphians may rest on the shoulders of Mark Sanchez.
Currently, however, Sanchez is the subject of trade rumors. The St Louis Rams may look at Sanchez as a potential target to replace their starting quarterback Sam Bradford, who has been ruled out of the season through injury. Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly has played his hands close to his chest. Kelly knows the importance of having a solid back up and there’s no doubt that Sanchez is better than the third string quarterback, Matt Barkley.
As a result, I strongly suspect that Sanchez will remain an Eagle for the 2014 season. Unless, that it, the Rams make an offer that the Eagles can’t refuse. Somehow, I can’t see that Sanchez is good enough to draw that kind of offer.
