Bacon, Eggs and Eagles – Sam Bradford Making Progress

facebooktwitterreddit

Although Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford wasn’t a full participant during the open part of OTAs, he is making progress and remains on schedule. The quarterback position seems to be a complete question mark at this point in Philadelphia and Bradford’s health will be a huge factor in whether or not this team is truly in the running for the playoffs. Chip Kelly and DeMarco Murray both responded to some controversial topics as well, which led to some interesting responses, to say the least. All that and more in this morning’s serving of Bacon, Eggs and Eagles!

Bradford Making Right Kind Of ProgressDave Spadaro of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"First, some perspective: On first the day that the Eagles opened their Organized Team Activities to the media, an unofficial 105 reporters, cameras and erstwhile information gatherers watched from the sidelines, a number nearly three times high than a normal busy, crazy, fun afternoon.Keep in mind, please, that the players are wearing helmets, shells and shorts during these OTAs, that there is no tackling and that, well, it’s just so darn early to make too much out of this work. But the curiosity factor is through the roof, don’t ya know, and when Sam Bradford, jersey No. 7, trotted out onto the field wearing a brace on his left knee, all eyes found him and the scrutiny began. Welcome to Philadelphia, Sam. Now do everything all at once."

Chip Kelly denies LeSean McCoy‘s accusations he’s a racistMike Foss of USAToday.com

"LeSean McCoy didn’t hold back his feelings toward Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly when he was traded to the Buffalo Bills. In May, McCoy noted that his relationship with Kelly was ‘never really great.’ The running back went so far as to say that Kelly needed full control, and then opined that the coach’s decisions were racially fueled.“You see how fast he got rid of all the good players. Especially all the good black players. He got rid of them the fastest. That’s the truth. There’s a reason,” McCoy said."

Murray Expects Plenty Of Meat With EaglesAlex Smith of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"Last December, DeMarco Murray rushed the ball for 81 yards and two touchdowns during a primetime game at Lincoln Financial Field, helping to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 38-27 victory over the Eagles. The late-season victory helped propel Dallas to an NFC East championship, and left the Eagles as an outsider looking in come the NFL playoffs in January.Just five months later, Murray finds himself wearing midnight green as the key addition of the Eagles’ unpredictable offseason. Since signing with the Eagles in March, Murray has had a few months to let the change sink in. But back in December, Murray wouldn’t have foreseen that he would trade in his star for a set of wings."

Tim Tebow Embraces The CompetitionChris McPherson of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"Two years after competing for a roster spot at the NovaCare Complex, quarterback Tim Tebow has returned albeit in a different uniform. In August 2013, Tebow was a member of the New England Patriots, who participated in a series of joint practices with the Eagles prior to their preseason affair. Tebow did not win a spot on the Patriots’ 53-man roster and was out of the NFL until the Eagles signed him earlier this offseason."

5 Things We Learned from the Philadelphia Eagles’ OTAsAndrew Kulp of BleacherReport.com

"Organized team activities, or OTAs, have been ongoing around the NFL for weeks, but for the first time this offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles let the media into practice. Head coach Chip Kelly even spoke publicly for the first time since the draft. While there’s only so much we can learn about a football team from one workout, some of what Kelly said and reporters were able to glean was enlightening. We got updates on the health of several players, a glimpse into certain players’ progress, possibly even a revelation about the depth chart."
