Bacon, Eggs and Eagles – Will Sam Bradford Bounce Back?

facebooktwitterreddit

While it’s easy to be concerned about the health of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. Matt Bowen of Bleacher Report believes he’ll bounce back. Bradford has shown the potential to be a very talented player in the NFL but he’s been hampered by injuries throughout his entire professional career. With Philadelphia’s use of sports science, Bradford may end up in the best shape of his career. Where does the Eagles’ offense rank by position in the NFC East? Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice takes a closer look. All that and more in this morning’s serving of Bacon, Eggs and Eagles!

Which Players Will Bounce Back from Injuries in the 2015 NFL Season?Matt Bowen of BleacherReport.com

"QB Sam Bradford, EaglesBradford has ended the last two seasons on the shelf with ACL injuries, and his durability has been brought into question because of that. But this didn’t stop Eagles coach Chip Kelly from trading 2014 starter Nick Foles to the Rams to get him. Bradford’s the guy, the new No. 1 in Philadelphia who is expected to orchestrate Kelly’s spread system in 2015."

Ranking the NFC East by position: Offense editionJimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com

"Which team in the NFC East has the best wide receivers? The best quarterback? The best running backs? The best offensive line? Let’s take a look at the division, position by position, and evaluate each teams’ rosters.Eli Manning has had more playoff success than Tony Romo, obviously, but Romo is the better quarterback at this point in their careers. Sam Bradford is a complete mystery with the Eagles, both in terms of his availability and his effectiveness even if he is fully healthy. Robert Griffin III was a rookie phenom, but has been an enormous disappointment ever since."

Power Ranking 15 Best Players on Philadelphia Eagles DefenseCody Swartz of BleacherReport.com

"The Philadelphia Eagles head into 2015 with a defense that was largely responsible for the team missing last season’s playoffs. Thirteen times the Eagles gave up 20 or more points, and the defense ranked 22nd for the year in points allowed and 28th in yards allowed. It was the secondary in particular that was often exposed as the weeks went on. Cornerback Bradley Fletcher was the easy target, but it was defensive coordinator Billy Davis’ curious decision to leave Fletcher one-on-one with Dez Bryant and Jordy Nelson that decimated the Eagles’ postseason chances. As a unit, the Eagles secondary ranked second to last in the league in passing yards allowed."

The Intangible: Locker Room ChemistryDave Spadaro of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"Maybe it’s an overrated and mismatched notion that great chemistry in an NFL locker room can translate to wins on the field, but maybe it isn’t. Leadership, trust and a unified sense of purpose seem to be the most important characteristics for success.“Looking back on the 2004 season when we went to the Super Bowl,” former Eagles safety Brian Dawkins said recently on a pass-through in Philadelphia, “we had a team of brothers. We worked together and we trusted each other. We had each other’s back. It was a special group and I definitely think that that way we felt for each other, the way we sacrificed for each other, helped us win the NFC.”"

A Closer Look at Every Team’s WR Situation Heading into 2015Russell S. Baxter of BleacherReport.com

"It has always been far better to give than receive. On the other hand, when it comes to professional football these days, has there been a better time to be a wide receiver (unless you’re trying to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in your first year of eligibility)? All told, 21 of the 23 players to total at least 1,000 receiving yards in the NFL in 2014 were wideouts (tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Carolina’s Greg Olsen were the only exceptions). This offseason, while numerous clubs retained their superstar receivers, we saw a fair share change teams."

I don’t usually like to share my own tweets at this point of the post but this meme I created after seeing this photo of Eagles rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor was just too funny not to share.
