Bradford: ‘I Plan To Play’Tim McManus of PhillyMag.com

"Chip Kelly was asked five different ways about his plan for Sam Bradford this weekend, and he deftly ducked each question. At one point, he cited the weather as a factor in determining if/how long Bradford plays.“You never know, there could be a monsoon!” he joked on his way off the practice field Thursday. There are some showers in the Green Bay forecast Saturday, but barring that monsoon, it sounds like the QB is suiting up.“I plan to play,” said Bradford. “It’s always his decision. We haven’t talked about it. I don’t know how much [I’ll play], but yeah, I plan to play.”Bradford has only played 14 snaps this preseason (all of which came last week against the Ravens) and he is eager to get more work. While noting that this system is easier to digest because the playbook is not as voluminous compared to other places, he still needs time to develop a greater comfort level."

Eagles rookie Nelson Agholor a work in progress – Les Bowen of Philly.com

"NELSON AGHOLOR knows he isn’t a finished product. If the Eagles’ first-round rookie wideout wasn’t clear on this, he got an abrupt reminder just before halftime of Saturday’s Eagles preseason romp over the Baltimore Ravens.Agholor made a scapel-sharp cut to get open for Mark Sanchez‘ pass, which Agholor caught just on the Ravens’ side of midfield, the clock ticking down inside 40 seconds. Ravens corner Cassius Vaughn tried to wrestle Agholor down, while Agholor fought to get out of bounds, to stop the clock. Suddenly, a step from the sideline, Vaughn let go of Agholor, wrestled the ball away, and took off. Agholor chased him down at the Eagles’ 40.A serendipitous pass interference penalty on Vaughn nullified the turnover. On replay, it wasn’t much of a penalty, Vaughn tugging briefly at Agholor’s left hand before the ball arrived."

Figuring out how Austin fits in with Eagles – Jeff McLane of Philly.com

"Miles Austin was virtually assured a roster spot with the Eagles after he signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with $1 million guaranteed. The team under Chip Kelly has eaten contracts before just to get rid of players it no longer wanted. But to part with one so soon after acquiring him, especially when Austin has done little to suggest he doesn’t belong, would be unprecedented. But the wide receiver hasn’t stood out enough, or even been given the opportunity to stand out, to fully comprehend yet what his role on the Eagles will be this season. He could end up starting on the outside, given his experience and the competition currently ahead of him on the depth chart (Riley Cooper, Josh Huff). Or he could be inactive on game days if he can’t contribute on special teams."
