The Philadelphia Eagles recently trimmed the 90-man roster to 75 in an effort to get closer to the final 53 that will carry into week 1 of the regular season. As the preseason has developed, the previously ubiquitous camp battles have disappeared, long since resolved; Sam Bradford unsurprising obliterated Mark Sanchez, Mychal Kendricks was extended, Walter Thurmond dominated unopposed, and Andrew Gardner slowly but surely displaced Matt Tobin on the right side. Now, all that is left are those few last spots that so many men are vying for.

With the roster being as deep as it is this time around, the Eagles’ staff will be forced to make some very difficult business decisions in determining who will stick. The most likely candidates will have at least one of two variables working in their favor: either they are contending at a weak position group and possess upside that other candidates lack, or they are simply too talented to risk being poached from the practice squad. Here are a few candidates who may find their way onto the 53-man roster once final cuts are made!
