Howie Roseman described his desire to avoid “band aid” signings, so why sign Kenny Britt?

The Eagles are expected too sign Kenny Britt Thursday. Anyone with just one good eye could see the Eagles were abysmal at wide receiver in 2016,

2015 first round pick Nelson Agholor regressed significantly, the trade for former second round pick and physical specimen Dorial Green-Beckham was a flop and Jordan Matthews, despite being the Eagles’ most consistent pass catcher since DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin (it still hurts that those guys are gone), could not make the jump to the outside. He struggled with drops for a second straight season.

We held our breath every time any receiver had the ball thrown in their direction.

This issue has to be fixed. Quarterback Carson Wentz needs competent talent at wide receiver. Many Eagles fans and analysts are looking at a deep free agency pool of pass catchers.

With Alshon Jeffery, Terrelle Pryor and, potentially, Brandin Cooks on the market, the Eagles have a variety of options that would instantly upgrade the offense. Reports have indicated that the Eagles are set to sign veteran wide receiver Kenny Britt. There are a few reasons not to like the move.
