Well, no ones ever going to accuse Brandon Graham of being lazy.

It’s been quite a busy week or so for Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham. He’s kind of like that Army commercial. You know the one. It’s been a while since we heard it. Some of you are too young, and you’ve never heard it. It still holds true though. This great country’s army does more before 9 a.m. than most people do all day. If they ever brought that ad back to life, they’d probably have to call Mr. Graham for some pointers.

This week, during Eagles team OTAs, Graham saw his relationship build with rookie defensive end Derek Barnett. He’s kind of taken on the role of mentor to the man who broke Reggie White‘s sack record with the Tennessee Volunteers. It was only seven years ago that the Eagles made Graham their first-round selection and the 13th-overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Fast forward to 2017 and the Eagles elected to go with another defensive end in round one. This time they took Barnett with the 14th-overall selection.

That followed some controversy that occurred about seven days earlier when rumors swirled that Graham was interested in holding out for a new deal. Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing to the stories, and he’d later deny those rumors.

A jack of all trades:

That would do it for most people, but not Graham. Following a full day’s work at the NovaCare Complex on Thursday, he then joined The Carlin and Reese Show on SportsRadio 94WIP. It was there that he made a pretty lofty claim.

He’s also been quoted as saying the Eagles secondary will give the defensive line more time to get to the quarterback during the 2017 season. His exact words, “With the help we got, those hurries definitely going to turn into sacks because the DBs (defensive backs) we got, I feel like everybody’s going to give us a lot of time.”

Those statements will, no doubt, force his teammates to back him up all season. It shouldn’t be much of an issue on either side of the ball. Expect Graham to do his part. Following what was, arguably, his best season (he did look pretty good in the 3-4 defensive scheme as well), the Eagles have upgraded along the defensive line. As mentioned, the drafted Barnett, but prior to that they added defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and defensive end Chris Long during the free agency period.

Oh, and by the way, he presided over the wedding of two Eagles fans as well.

Is there anything that this guy can’t do? If there is, it would be interesting to know.
