Six Eagles receivers are planning to take a trip to North Dakota so that they can hang out with Carson Wentz and have some bonding time.

Football is more similar to our own careers than many of us realize. Teammates are, in essence, coworkers. Sometimes they get along, and sometimes, they don’t. Yes, they’re all serious about doing the job to the best of their ability. Sure, there are goals that are both individual and team oriented. There are times, however, in which the individual parties in the organization don’t communicate much. There isn’t anything wrong with that. Most times, it does makes the job easier when guys get along. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz understands that, and he’s doing everything he can to build comradery on his team.

Players advise each other to spend some time during their summer vacation doing as little football-related activity as possible. Still, they don’t want to sit around and get rusty either. As you’d expect, Wentz has football on the brain. He plans to host a few of the Eagles’ receivers in North Dakota at some point during the team’s break. Zach ErtzJordan Matthews, Trey BurtonBryce Treggs, Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith are among the guys who are expected to be present.

One of the rookies is interested in making sure that he’s allowed to tag along will try to make the trip as well.

“My goal is to play for this team and help in any way to win a Super Bowl”. That’s a direct quote from rookie Mack Hollins. He took a brief moment to speak with the Philadelphia media during the final moments of the most recent minicamp. He wasn’t done with that thought. “Football’s not like basketball where you can go get a ball and just dribble down the street and you’re getting better. You kind of need other people around.”

Will Hollins be in North Dakota as well?

If you haven’t watch a ton of North Carolina Tarheels football recently, you may be unfamiliar with Hollins, his skill set or his work ethic. There’s no need to worry. This may be one of the most articulate and mature 23-year-old gentlemen you’ll meet. By his own account the team has given him what he needs to be successful. Everyone was given a routine for lifting and running. Everyone has their playbook to study. “If you have your goals set, it’s not too hard to stay focused on what you need to do.”

Next: Is the third year the charm?

When asked about the possibility of heading up to North Dakota with his teammates the rookie lit up. “I’m going to try to. We’ll set up a trip somewhere. I’m new to this.. I think it’s always good to be throwing, especially with your own quarterback. Any opportunity that I can have to help Carson as well as (having) him help me, I’m going to take it. If it’s possible, I’m going to take advantage of it”.

That’s good news and all we needed to hear to get our days started.
