JJ Watt provides an interesting conversation if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

If you’re a little older and a Philadelphia Eagles or an NFL fan, you shouldn’t have any problem remembering the Matthews clan. When most NFL fans think of ‘football families’, it doesn’t take long for their names to come up. There were about three Clays and, of course, Bruce.

Other football families include the Ryans, whose patriarch, Buddy, led the Birds as their head coach from 1986 to 1990 and, of course, the Watts, who have seen JJ become a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

By now, you’ve heard the news as the only franchise in the NFL that can lay claim to being more dysfunctional than the Eagles, the Houston Texans have decided to honor the request of a former Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and their franchise’s record holder for both sacks and forced fumbles, JJ Watt. He’s now been released and is free to pursue other opportunities.

As sick as you probably are of hearing every available player being linked to Philly in some form or fashion, JJ Watt is different. He’s someone the Birds have to think about right? Not so fast friends (as Lee Corso would say)! Here are arguments for and against adding this future Pro Football Hall of fame inductee to the nest.
