The three-day courtship with cornerback/safety Marlin Jackson is over. The Eagles inked him and his torn ACLs to a two-year contract today.
I loved this guy coming out of college, but you really have to wonder about how much he can give playing on bad knees. He does bring versatility, so maybe he’ll just be used [...]

More good news on the Eagles restricted free agent front. On the heels of Leonard Weaver’s new contract last week, the Birds have also locked up wide receiver Jason Avant with a 5-year deal.
Avant, along with starters DeSean and Maclin, give the offense its best trio of pass catchers in a long time. Jason’s silky [...]

I’d call this a shocker. The Eagles have dumped linebacker Will Witherspoon less than six months after trading for him. As we all know, the Birds had a myriad of problems at the linebacker positions in 2009, so cutting Will, who was probably their best player, strikes me as strange.
Maybe they will bring him back [...]

So much for inking some of the Eagles restricted free agents before midnight. All nine were tendered today without any long-term deals.
Here’s the list:
- Eillis Hobbs – 1st round
- Leonard Weaver – 2nd round
- Jason Avant – 2nd round
- Nick Cole – 2nd round
- Akeem Jordan – 2nd round
- Chris Gocong – 3rd round
- Max [...]

Well, it happened. The Eagles have cut ties with Brian Westbrook. I’m somewhat surprised by the timing, but evidently the sooner the better. If Westy wants to continue his playing career, he’ll now have the opportunity to catch on elsewhere. Here’s what Andy Reid had to say about Westbrook:
“Brian is one of the greatest Eagles [...]

Let the bloodletting commence! The Eagles tossed maligned special teams coordinator Ted Daisher out the door today and hired veteran ST guru Bobby April, most recently of Buffalo. April has a sterling reputation around the league, so I’d call this a shrewd move.
Daisher never seemed to fit in with Reid and Co. All that yelling [...]

The horrific nightmare continues. Woe is me. I thought Reid said they’d be ready. Oh well.
The Eagles 2009 season came to a crashing end at the hands of those gosh darn Cowboys. It was kinda sorta a repeat from last week, only much, much worse. If not for some stupid penalties by the ‘Boys early, [...]

Well, the Eagles certainly made this one more interesting than it needed to be. After a dominating first half, the Birds decided to take the third quarter off and allow the Niners to climb back into what should have been a blowout.
Regardless, the Eagles are in the playoffs for the 8th time in eleven years. [...]
