The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a five year contract with first round pick Brandon Graham, a defensive end from Michigan. ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced the news on Twitter, and the Eagles have posted it on their official website.

Philadelphia selected Graham 13th overall in the 2010 draft after dealing its 24th overall pick and two third round picks to Denver to move up. Graham racked up 29.5 sacks during his Michigan career, including 10 each of the last two seasons. The 6′1, 268 pound defensive end ran a 4.72 40 yard dash.

Graham is expected to compete with Juqua Parker for a starting spot at defensive end. Wide receiver Blue Cooper was released to make room for Graham.

There’s a new report coming out this morning that, according to Michael Vick’s “crisis manager”, he’s not allowed to leave the state. This is all part of the aftermath of a shooting outside Vick’s birthday party in Virginia. It doesn’t really come as much surprise that something like this is happening though, as the victim of the shooting was a former co-defendant in Vick’s dog fighting case. Part of Vick’s probation was that he is not supposed associate with these people.

It’s really unclear how this will affect his traveling with the Eagles in the up coming season, but my guess would be not very much. All of his out of state travel plans will have to be approved, and there’s a good chance they will approve trips for his away games. Unfortunately this travel restriction has forced him to miss a football camp in Baltimore and a golf tournament in Atlanta.

Everyone’s opinion on Vick differs, but after all the news has come out and the prosecutor said what went down, the chances of the Eagles cutting Vick seem to be less and less. They’ve backed him from day 1, and somehow Vick is in such high favor in the Eagles organization that they’ve stuck their neck out for him not once, but twice. He did what he should have done: Walked away. Just like any normal person should have done. The problem is, this situation would not have happened if he kept his parties private, which I’m sure he will be doing from now on.

Now once this whole situation passes us we can figure out where Vick fits in this team. I hope the Eagles have something very productive and successful planned for Vick this season.
