Happy 4th of July Eagles Nation

I’d like to thank everyone who’s stopped by ITI so far this year. I hope I’ve been able to provide a little insight into our beloved Eagles. I appreciate the comments and poll votes more than you know, so keep them coming. You the fans make what I do fun.
And don’t forget to subscribe to [...]

Westbrook and Maclin Together in one Post

First up is JMac. PFT brought up an interesting point last night in regards to the Eagles prized first-round pick. Since Maclin is the only remaining rookie yet to ink a deal, the terms of his contract are pretty much set in stone. Here’s their reasoning:
“Basically, the Eagles will take the remainder of their rookie [...]

FOXSports.com Might Want to Rephrase This

Ahem. Forgive my junior high sense of humor on this one, but FOXSports.com released their positional rankings for running backs. It’s called “Ranking the NFL’s RB Packages.” Sorry, I snickered at the decision to use the word “packages.” I think I would have gone with “backfields” instead.
Well, at least the Panthers, Vikings and Titans can [...]

How “Ultimate” are the Eagles?

Yet another “Best Of” list has been released by the World Wide Leader. ESPN the Mag calls this one “Ultimate Standings.” I guess that means everyone else’s standings are rendered meaningless because ESPN’s is the Ultimate, brother. My only real question regarding the list is how much influence the Ultimate Warrior had in ranking the [...]

Ellis Hobbs Never Disappoints

Whether or not Ellis Hobbs lasts in Philly beyond this season makes no difference to me. If he works out, great. If not, no biggie. If you cornered me with a sharp pointy stick, I’d say I think he’ll be here in 2010. Anyone who doesn’t believe he can be a quality starter never watched [...]

The Curious Case of LeSean McCoy

Before I get on with my thoughts on Shady, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Football Outsiders’ list of 25 underrated players this decade. Philly’s own Brian Westbrook clocked in at number 15. I’d probably place him in the Top 10, but the FO guys use all kinds of fancy formulas and algorithms to [...]

Dead Celebrities and Their NFL Counterparts

It’s been a tough year for celebs thus far in 2009 and it’s only half-way over. I’d like to believe things couldn’t get much worse than what we’ve seen in June, but strange has a way of following the rich and famous. At least this is the last day of the month. Maybe, just maybe, [...]

Eagles Sign LeSean McCoy

According to NFL.com’s Steve Wyche, the Eagles have inked Shady McCoy to a four-year contract. No official word from the Birds, but McCoy’s agent Drew Rosenhaus tweeted the deal, so it must be true. In case you weren’t aware, Twitter is how everyone is getting their news these days.
With McCoy presumably in the fold, only [...]

Still One Of The Best

Pete Prisco over at CBS.com published his list of the NFL’s Top 50 ballers. I consider lists like these an exercise in futility, but I don’t have much else to write on today, so I figured I’d offer my two cents on Prisco’s choices.
Donovan McNabb is the lone Eagles representative. No Westbrook. No Samuel. No [...]

Brian Mitchell Fired for Criticizing Redskins?

PFT, via USA Today, is reporting former Eagles return specialist Brian Mitchell claims he was canned from his D.C. radio gig for inflammatory comments toward the Redskins.
The radio company, Red Zebra Radio (weird name), claims Mitchell’s removal was economic based. What else would they say? He was making $150 K, which ain’t chump change, so [...]
