1st Round |

1. Miami Dolphins - OT Jake Long, Michigan
- After a tremendous showing at the combine Jake Long has solidified himself as the number 1 pick in the draft. The Dolphins offensive line has been in shambles for years now, and Parcells is going to get his franchise LT for years to come. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Chris Long, Matt Ryan, Glenn Dorsey

4. Oakland Raiders - DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State
- The Raiders get one of the best pure pass rushers in the draft with Vernon Gholston. After targeting secondary help in free agency, Oakland goes defensive line in the draft. They finally will have a threat opposite of Derrick Burgess, and a much improved defense in 2008. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Glenn Dorsey, Sedric Ellis, Chris Long

5. Kansas City Chiefs - DT Sedric Ellis, USC
- The Chiefs have big needs at offensive line, but they can’t pass up the talent of Ellis. going for the best player available the Chiefs get the other premier DT in this draft, and will add him to a much improved Kansas City defense. Ellis is both strong against the run, and a very good pass rusher. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Ryan Clady, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Jeff Otah
6. New York Jets - RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas
- The Jets nab the big play RB Darren McFadden. The Jets had big needs at offensive and defensive line, but they addressed both of those needs in free agency. Those moves allow the Jets to focus on playmakers for their offense, and McFadden is widely considered as the top guy. A good mix of Thomas Jones, and Darren McFadden should be a tough combination to handle. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Derrick Harvey, Jeff Otah
7. New England Patriots (From 49ers) - CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, TSU
- With the departure of Asante Samuel and Randal Gay the Patriots have a big hole at CB. They did sign Jason Webster and Fernando Bryant in free agency, but they are there for depth purposes. Cromartie’s great Senior Bowl, and tremendous combine has pushed him to the top DB in the draft. He has great speed, good size, and is a ball hawk. It does not hurt that he is also cousins with Chargers CB Antonio Cromartie. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Vernon Gholston, Derrick Harvey, Leodis McKelvin

8. Baltimore Ravens - QB Matt Ryan, Boston College
- Ozzie Newsome has shot down the Donovan McNabb trade rumor, and should look to the draft to find a franchise QB. Matt Ryan is the top rated QB in this draft, and Baltimore would be very lucky if he managed to fall this far. The Ravens still have two veteran QBs in Steve McNair and Kyle Boller who could allow Matt Ryan to develop for 1-2 years. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Derrick Harvey, Sedric Ellis, Jeff Otah

9. Cincinnati Bengals - DE Derrick Harvey, Florida
- The Bengals have to rebuild their defense. They did sign Antwan Odom of the Titans, but lost Justin Smith to the 49ers. The Giants proved that stacking up on pass rushers is the way to go defensively, and the Bengals grab a young pass rushing defensive end to be in the mix. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Keith Rivers, Sedric Ellis, Aqib Talib
10. New Orleans Saints - LB Keith Rivers, USC
- The Saints are obviously trying to improve their linebackers, with the trade for Johnathan Vilma, and the signing of Dan Morgan. They would love to get Rivers to be a playmaker at OLB. Rivers could work his way in year one, and by year two become a full time starter. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Derrick Harvey, Kentwan Balmer, Mike Jenkins
11. Buffalo Bills - WR Devin Thomas, Michigan State
- The Bills addressed some needs in free agency, but a playmaking WR is still a big need. Thomas has good size, great speed, and is coming off a tremendous junior season at Michigan State. Thomas could probably compete for a starting job as a rookie and would compliment Lee Evans very well. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Malcolm Kelly, Limas Sweed, Aqib Talib

12. Denver Broncos - CB Aqib Talib, Kansas
- The Broncos select Talib here to play free safety for them. John Lynch is a great player, but at age 36 he is at the end of his career. Talib is a ball hawking DB who makes big plays once he gets the ball. He probably would not play much as a rookie, but would start for sure in 2009. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Ryan Clady, Kentwan Balmer, Kenny Phillips
13. Carolina Panthers - OT Ryan Clady, Boise State
- The Panthers had to go through 4 QBs last year. A good way to keep Jake Delhomme healthy in 2008, is to protect him better. The Panthers did manage to sign Travelle Wharton long term, and they franchised Jordan Gross, but they lost Mike Whale to the Seahawks in free agency. Clady could probably start for the Panthers at RT, and help solidify the offensive line. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Jeff Otah, Chris Williams, Branden Albert

14. Chicago Bears - OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh
- The Bears offensive tackles are getting old. Drafting Otah would give the Bears a future replacement at LT or RT. Otah is a massive lineman who gets very physical in run blocking. No matter who the Bears use at RB, they will benefit from having Otah blocking for them. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Rashard Mendenhall, Brian Brohm, Chris Williams

15. Detroit Lions - OT Chris Williams, Vanderbilt
- The Lions are switching to a zone blocking scheme, and Williams is athletic enough to fit that system. He may need to hit the weight room to build up his strength some, but he can move very well for a LT. For the Lions to get better they have to improve their line on both sides of the ball. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Philip Merling, Mike Jenkins, Antoine Cason
16. Arizona Cardinals - RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois
- Edjerrin James has been somewhat of a disappointment in Arizona. He has not had the impact the Cardinals had hoped for when they made him one of the richest RBs in NFL history a few years ago. Mendenhall just had an amazing season for Illinois, and looks to be a big time playmaker in the NFL. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Jonathan Stewart, Mike Jenkins, Branden Albert

17. Minnesota Vikings - CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy
- It would be pretty surprising if McKelvin were to drop this far. The Vikings would pick up a great cover corner, and a great punt returner. McKelvin would team up with Antoine Winfield to form one of the better CB tandems in the NFL. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Mike Jenkins, Kenny Phillips, Philip Merling
18. Houston Texans - CB Mike Jenkins, USF
-
Dunta Robinson is likely headed to the PUP as he is recovering from some very serious injuries. The other CBs on the Texans are 2nd year player Fred Bennett and Jacques Reeves. Jenkins should be a big addition to the Texans backfield, and could start as a rookie. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Philip Merling, Calais Campbell, Antoine Cason
19. Philadelphia Eagles - G Branden Albert, Virgina
- Albert is a dominating guard who many feel has the ability to kick out to left tackle. He has the size the Eagles look for in offensive lineman, and he is one of the quickest lineman on his feet. With Tra Thomas entering the last season of his contract, the Birds will need to find a replacement, and Albert will be the guy. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Jeff Otah, Chris Williams, Limas Sweed
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - WR DeSean Jackson, Cal
- Joey Galloway has somehow been able to play great at age 36, but he can’t play forever. That is why the Buccaneers need to go for DeSean Jackson here. Jackson is blazing fast, and could probably start by the end of this year. He is also a biog threat in the return game. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Limas Sweed, Malcolm Kelly, Antoine Cason
21. Washington Redskins - WR Limas Sweed, Texas
- The Redskins are looking to implement the West Coast Offense, and for that they need a bigger wide receiver. Sweed runs well for his size, and could be the missing piece of Washington’s offense. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Devin Thomas, DeSean Jackson, PHillip Merling
22. Dallas Cowboys (From Browns) - S Kenny Phillips, Miami
- Roy Williams was once a difference maker for the Cowboys, but now he is a liability. At times last year Wade Phillips benched Williams on obvious passing downs. Kenny Phillips should battle Roy for his job even as a rookie. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Dan Connor, Tracy Porter, Antoine Cason
23. Pittsburgh Steelers - DT Kentwan Balmer, North Carolina
- The Steelers would probably be very disappointed to see Branden Albert gone here, because there is really no other guard worthy of a first round pick in this draft. They then turn to the defensive line, and get DT Kentwan Balmer. Blamer could be very versatile in a 3-4, because he could line up at both NT and DE. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Gosder Cherilus, Brandon Flowers, Calais Campbell
24. Tennessee Titans - WR Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma
- Vince Young needs another weapon. They have a few solid receivers, but they do not have a go to guy. Kelly had a horrible showing at his pro day, and that will make him slide in this draft. He may even fall further than this, but I think if you watch the game tape on Kelly you see he made a ton of big plays.VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: DeSean Jackson, James Hardy, Phillip Merling

25. Seattle Seahawks - RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon
- Reports say that Shaun Alexander’s days in Seattle over over. The Seahawks have already signed Julius Jones, and TJ Duckett, and will probably cut Alexander after June 1st. Stewart will be shut down for the next 6 months with a toe surgery, but his talent is hard to just pass on. Jonathan Stewart put up great numbers at Oregon, and will eventually be Seattle’s featured back. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Fred David, Gosder Cherilus, Tracy Porter
26. Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Phillip Merling, Clemson
- The Jags lost Bobby McCray in free agency, and need a DE somewhere in this draft. Merling is a very well rounded DE who some feel may even be better than last years 4th overall pick Gaines Adams. Jacksonville should feel good about getting a player of Merling’s talent to fall to them at 26. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Lawrence Jackson, Calais Campbell, Dan Connor
27. San Diego Chargers - OT Gosder Cherilus, Boston College
- In a somewhat surprising move, the Chargers decided to cut their starting RT Shane Olevia. The move appears to be a cap saving one, but now the Chargers have a big need on their offensive line. Cherilus was a 4 year starter at RT for BC, and is a physically dominating player. He should probably start right away be a big factor for their offense. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Sam Baker, Antoine Cason, Brandon Flowers
28. Dallas Cowboys - CB Antoine Cason, Arizona
- The Cowboys depth at CB is very thin right now. The way NFL teams are shifting to spread offenses, you need to have 3 capable CBs to defend those WRs. Cason is a playmaking DB who makes things happen. He should instantly become the teams 3rd CB, and could probably start over Anthony Henry in a year or two. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Tracy Porter, DeSean Jackson, Brandon Flowers
29. San Fransisco 49ers (From Colts) - DE Quentin Groves, Auburn
- The Rams draft another DE to finish the complete overhaul to their defensive line. Groves is a great pass rusher who can play DE in a 4-3 or OLB in a 3-4. With the drafting of Adam Carriker and Claude Wroten last year, and the additions of Chris long and Quentin Groves this year, the Rams could have one of the most feared d-lines in the NFL. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Antoine Cason, Sam Baker, Early Doucet
30. Green Bay Packers - CB Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech
- The Packers have two good CB, but both of them are facing the wrong side of 30. Flowers is not the fastest guy, but he is very physical. He is very capable of pressing receivers at the line, and should fit into the Green Bay scheme very well. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Tracey Porter, Dan Connor, Antoine Cason

FORFEITED FOR CHEATING

31. New York Giants - CB Tracy Porter, Indiana
| Team |
2nd Round |

32. Miami Dolphins - DE Calais Campbell, Miami
33. St. Louis Rams - LB Dan Connor, Penn State

34. Atlanta Falcons (from Raiders) - QB Brian Brohm, Louisville
- The Falcons current quarterbacks are very poor. They need to draft a QB in this draft somewhere. If a talent like Brohm where to fall to the 2nd round, I do not think the Falcons could pass him up. He is a potential franchise QB who may go mid first round possibly. He has a big arm, and good size. Atlanta could finally move on from the Michael Vick mess by drafting Brian Brohm. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Antoine Cason, Sam Baker, Anthony Collins

35. Kansas City Chiefs - OT Sam Baker, USC
- I have the Chiefs passing up some of the first round offensive tackles for the very talented Sedric Ellis. The Chiefs have many holes to fill, but most of them are on the offensive line. Baker is a 4 year starter at LT for USC, and should be able to start for the Chiefs as a rookie. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Anthony Collins, Antoine Cason,

36. New York Jets - OT Carl Nicks, Nebraska
37. Atlanta Falcons - TE Fred Davis, USC
- The Falcons released veteran Alge Crumpler, and will look to find his replacement through the draft. Fred Davis is widely considered the best receiving tight end in the draft, and has the ability to stretch the field. The Falcons loaded up with draft picks this year, and have plenty of options because of it. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Dustin Keller, Anthony Collins, Antoine Cason
38. Baltimore Ravens - WR James Hardy, Indiana
- Baltimore grabs a big wide out for their new franchise QB Matt Ryan. At 6′6″ Hardy is a terrific possession receiver, and was a touchdown machine, scoring 36 times in 3 years at Indiana. John Harbaugh is going to make his stamp on the Ravens by making the offense better. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Anthony Collins, Felix Jones, Justin King

39. San Fransisco 49ers - OT Anthony Collins, Kansas
- The 49ers took Joe Staley last year, but this year they look for a LT. Anthony Collins is a very talented kid, who moves very well for a big guy. He could start from day 1 at LT, and make a major difference in San Fransisco’s offense. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Duane Brown, Mario Manningham, Early Doucet

40. New Orleans Saints - DT Trevor Laws, Notre Dame
- The Saints defense needs to be better up front. Jonathan Vilma could be a great addition, but he will not be effective if guards are getting to him easily. Laws is a well rounded DT who can hold his ground, and get to the QB in passing situations. He should be a very valuable player for the Saints. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Pat Sims, Lawrence Jackson, Justin King
41. Buffalo Bills - TE Dustin Keller, Purdue
- The Bills continue to add offensive weapons, by taking Dustin Keller. Keller is one of the best receiving TE’s in this draft, and should be a great target for QB Trent Edwards. Keller’s draft stock has shot up after he had a tremendous combine. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Fred Davis, Trevor Laws, Tracy Porter
42. Denver Broncos - WR Mario Manningham, Michigan
- With the release of Javon Walker and the recent injury to Brandon Marshall, the Broncos should look to add another receiver in the draft. Manningham is very talented, but should probably slip out of the first round due to timing poorly at the combine. Denver would then have 3 solid WRs with Marshall, Stokely, and Manningham. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Earl Bennett, Pat Sims, Felix Jones

43. Carolina Panthers - OT Duane Brown, Virginia Tech
- The Panthers managed to sign Travelle Wharton long term and they franchise tagged Jordan Gross, but they lost Mike Whale. With Gross’s long term status in doubt, and a hole on the offensive line, the Panthers grab Brown to fill the need. Brown could possibly start at RT as a rookie for Carolina.
- Other Possible Picks: Carl Nicks, Joe Flacco, Felix Jones
44. Chicago Bears - QB Joe Flacco, Delaware
- Chicago has a serious QB issues. Rex Grossman lost his starting job, Brian Griese is gone, and Kyle Orton showed that he is not a starting-caliber QB in the NFL. Signing Grossman for 1 more year shows that the Bears plan on drafting a QB somewhere in this draft, and having him become the starter in 2009. Joe Flacco is a big kid with a strong arm who should become the franchise QB. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Felix Jones, Pat Sims, Chad Henne
45. Detroit Lions - RB Felix Jones, Arkansas
- The Lions are sure to take a RB in this draft, because of the release of Kevin Jones. If they could replace him with Felix Jones the Lions would be thrilled. I doubt he actually does slide this far, but if he does the Lions could actually have a great RB to an offense loaded with great WRs. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Pat Sims, DaJaun Morgan, Chris Johnson
46. Cincinnati Bengals - DT Pat Sims, Auburn
- The Bengals have lacked a really good DT for a long time. This is one of the main reasons why Cincinnati’s defense has played poorly over the years. Pat Sims is a great athlete who should be a difference maker up front. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Lawrence Jackson, Reggie Smith, Eddie Royal
47. Minnesota Vikings - DE Lawrence Jackson, USC
- The Vikings have had some bad luck with past first round defensive ends. Erasmus James has been often injured and not very productive. Kenechi Udeze finally had a solid year, but he was just diagnosed with leukemia. The Vikings pass rush needs to improve, and Jackson could be a huge help. He may fall due to his bad combine, but he was a big time play maker at USC. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Dre Moore, Pat Sims, Justin King
48. Atlanta Falcons (From Texans) - S Reggie Smith, Oklahoma
- The Falcons grabbed FS Erik Coleman from the Jets, and now they look to get their SS on the future. Lawyer Milloy is nearing the end of his career, and Reggie Smith could be his successor. Smith is a great athlete who played CB, SS, and returned kick offs at Oklahoma. He has a knack for making big plays, and should be a great addition to Atlanta. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Justin King, Xavier Adibi, Anthony Collins
49. Philadelphia Eagles - RB Chris Johnson, Eastern Carolina
- This may not be an immediate need, but the Eagles tend to draft for the future. Johnson has a similar skill set to Brian Westbrook with blazing fast speed, a great ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, and he has illusiveness in the open field. The Eagles tried to get another speed back to compliment Westbrook with Ryan Moats, but he has not worked out well. Johnson would fit into our offense much better than Moats did in my opinion, and he is a dangerous kick returner which is a huge plus. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: DaJuan Morgan, Eddie Royal, Martellus Bennett
50. Arizona Cardinals - CB Justin King, Penn State
- Arizona is reported to be moving Antrelle Rolle to safety, and that would leave a vacant spot at CB. Justin King ran very well at the combine, and probably boosted his draft ranking very much. King is a rare combo of size and speed, and should be highly sought after this draft. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Chris Johnson, Lawrence Jackson, Pat Sims
51. Washington Redskins - S DaJuan Morgan, NC State
- The Redskins lost a great football player with the passing of Sean Taylor. Taylor was a force on the Washington defense, and was sorely missed. Morgan could pair up with LaRon Landry to be one of the better safety duos in the NFL. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Lawrence Jackson, Jerod Mayo, Terrell Thomas

52. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - LB Xavier Adibi, Virginia Tech
- Tampa Bay has almost completely overhauled it’s defense from the 2002 Super Bowl team. The one players remaining are LB Derrick Brooks and CB Ronde Barber. While Brooks is still playing well, his career is nearing the end. Adibi is undersized, but he flies to the football and makes a ton of plays. He would be a perfect fit in the Buccaneers defense. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Justin King, Early Doucet, Martellus Bennett
53. Pittsburgh Steelers - WR Eddie Royal, Virginia Tech
- The release of Cedric Wilson opens up a roster spot for a WR on the Steelers. Royal would be brought in not only for his receiving ability, but he is also a great punt returner. Royal could slowly work his way into the offense, and become a very productive player for Pittsburgh. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Early Doucet, Jerod Mayo, DaJuan Morgan
54. Tennessee Titans - LB Jerod Mayo, Tennessee

55. Seattle Seahawks - TE Martellus Bennett, Texas A&M
- Seattle has a big need for a tight end, and they will be sure to grab one in the draft. Martellus Bennett is a huge athlete who some feel has the upside to become the best tight end in this draft, although he is very raw. Don’t be surprised if Martellus Bennett is taken early in round two. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Brad Cottam, John Carlson, Jamaal Charles

56. Green Bay Packers - TE Brad Cottam, Tennessee
- The Packers cut Bubba Franks, and should look to bring in a 2nd tight end to play behind Donald Lee. Cottam did not play this past year due to injuries, but he showed that he is very athletic at the combine, and had an even better pro day. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Charles Godfrey, John Carlson, Jamaal Charles
57. Miami Dolphins (From Chargers) - CB Charles Godfrey, Iowa
58. Jacksonville Jaguars - TE John Carlson, Notre Dame
- The Jaguars could use a strong blocking tight end to go along with Marcedes Lewis. Carlson is a very big physical player, who can catch a few passes as well. His slow 40 time will probably make him fall far in this draft. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Charles Godfrey, Terrell Thomas, Erin Henderson
59. Dallas Cowboys - RB Jamaal Charles, Texas
- Dallas lost RB Julius Jones in free agency, and should look to replace him in the draft. Marion Barber is a very good RB, but Dallas would prefer to run a two back system. Charles has very good speed, and could be a great change of pace to Barber. He could give Dallas a new dynamic to their backfield. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Ray Rice, Erin Henderson, Early Doucet
60. Green Bay Packers - LB Erin Henderson, Maryland
- The Packers grab an intriguing LB prospect who could possibly compete with Brady Poppinga for the starting SAM position. Erin is the younger brother of Minnesota’s LB E.J. Henderson, and many feel he will end up being the better pro. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Terrell Thomas, Early Doucet, Jamaal Charles
61. Indianapolis Colts - WR Early Doucet, LSU
- This may seem like a strange selection, but at 35 Marvin Harrison does not have too much left in the tank. The Colts love to run a 3 WR set, and Doucet could be great in the Colts offense. This would be more of a value pick, and not so much of a need. VIDEO>>
- Other Possible Picks: Terrell Thomas, Cliff Avril, Xavier Adibi
