Here is another mock draft written by Blake Meek of nflmocks.com. For this mock, I will give you my opinions on some of the picks I liked and some I don’t like so much.

And with the first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select…

1. Luke Joeckel: I think this pick makes a lot of sense for the Chiefs. The Chiefs added a lot of pieces in the off season, but football games are won in the trenches. With the uncertainty of Brandon Albert, Joeckel will look solidify their line with Joeckel.

4. Geno Smith: Personally I don’t like this pick at all. Smith is not a top-5 talent and the Eagles have other positions that they could look to fill up. The three players I like at four for the Eagles are Star Lotulelei.

14. Sharrif Floyd: Floyd is considered a stone cold lock for the top 10 and he has a very strong chance of going in the top-5. If Floyd does fall I love the pick, but assuming he doesn’t, I think the Panthers will take Sheldon Richardson.

16. Kenny Vaccaro: The Rams cut Quintin Mikell this off season and are looking to draft a safety to fill the hole in their secondary. This is a great draft to do it and Vaccaro is the best safety in the draft. Vaccaro is a play-maker and would come to St. Louis and fill a need for the team.

25. Manti Teo: This pick has me scratching my head because the Vikings already have Chad Greenway and the Vikings have needs at corner, defensive tackle, and wide receiver. In this mock, Blake has the Vikings taking corner Desmond Trufant, so with their second pick I believe the Vikings would take either DeAndre Hopkins or Kawann Short.

Now that NFL scouting combine has come and gone, here is the first 3 rounds of my mock draft for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Round 1: Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon

Before the combine, I had Dion Jordan as a top-15 prospect, but after his great performance I have him as a top ten lock. Jordan put on 20 pounds between the end of the college season and the combine and still showed he has great speed for a linebacker. It was well known that Jordan could rush the passer, but it was unknown if he could cover running backs or tight ends in the NFL. Jordan put those questions to bed when he showed of his ability to cover and his speed from sideline to sideline. I believe Jordan will be reunited with his former coach, Chip Kelly, come April.

Round 2: Jessie Williams, NT, Alabama

With the Eagles switching to 3-4 defense, the Eagles are going to need to find someone to play nose-tackle. Jessie Williams can be the guy to anchor Billy Davis’ new defense. I have Williams as a late 1st-early 2nd prospect, but I think he will slip out of the first round and into the Eagles lap. Williams comes from college football’s most dominant defense and he can be the anchor of the Eagles defensive line for years to come.

Round 3: Shawn Williams, S, Georgia

I had Williams tied for fourth in my pre-combine safeties rankings and he really excited me with his performance in the combine. Williams ran extremely well and also showed off his strength with 25 reps on the bench press.  He showed that he is a physical safety and that is exactly what the Eagles need. Williams would be a huge upgrade over Kurt Coleman and bring some physicality to the Eagles secondary.
