On Tuesday night, Sayre Bedinger of nflmocks.com, released a three round mock draft. Here are his picks with my analysis of his selections.

4. Philadelphia Eagles – Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Fisher may be the most talented pass protector in this year’s draft, and the Eagles certainly can’t have enough of that. They could easily go QB with this pick, but they may let the board play out.

In my mock draft, I have the Eagles selecting corner Dee Milliner with their first round selection, but Fisher is a very good pick as well. The Eagles signed two new corners this off season and could feel that they need to address another need through the draft. Even with the Eagles core offensive lineman coming back, supposedly, healthy, the Eagles could add another piece to sure up their line. If Fisher is drafted, I could see the Eagles sliding Peters to RT and kicking Herremans back inside to RG, eliminating Danny Watkins from the line. If this is the case the Eagles offensive line looks like it could be one of the best lines in the league.

35. Philadelphia Eagles: E.J. Manuel, QB, Florida State

Bedinger has the Eagles selecting EJ Manuel in the second round, as do many other people. EJ Manuel seems like a perfect fit, I just feel the Eagles have bigger needs and by taking Manuel, the Eagles will have spent their first two picks on the offense when the defense needs the most work. If the Eagles go Fisher in the first round, I see the Eagles taking a defensive tackle, safety, or corner.

67. Philadelphia Eagles: John Jenkins, DT, Georgia

Jon Jenkins makes a lot of sense for the Eagles because he is a big nose tackle, but he also has good speed for his size which allows him to rush the passer. Jenkins might not be available at this pick, so I don’t think the Eagle will ultimately draft Jenkins, but I do think the will pick up nose tackle in the 2nd or 3rd round.  

Word from the Senior Bowl held last month in Mobile was that E.J. Manuel was dying to fly north to Philly in order to play for new Eagles head coach Chip Kelly. And that makes sense.

Manuel, who ran quite a bit of hurry-up and read-option looks with the Seminoles, believes he would seemingly be a potential fit in whatever variation of the Oregon offense Kelly brings with him to Philadelphia.

And…and…he even told us just how much he loved us over the phone last week when he called into 97.5 The Fanatic.

“I’m just hoping that he gives me the opportunity,” he said. “I would love to come and play in his offense, I would love to play for him and I would love to be his guy. It’s kind of starting off his tenure in the NFL, and I would love to be his first quarterback. I think it would be a great relationship.”

But only days later did Manuel run astray when told the NFL Network at EA Sports’ Madden party that the Eagles aren’t the only team he has his eye on. The culprit? None other than the Kansas City Chiefs.

“I’d love to play for Kansas City as well,” said Manuel. “I know they have the first pick and Andy Reid is the head coach there now. He’s brought up a lot of great QBs like Donovan McNabb. Whoever I get chose by, I’d love to play for them.”

Come on, man. The Chiefs?

Whatever. Guy clearly has no idea.

Wherever he ends up, it appears Manuel did much to help his cause at the Senior Bowl as he’s now considered a certain second round pick.

According to CSNPhilly.com’s Geoff Mosher, Florida State quarterback EJ Manuel met with Chip Kelly last night in Alabama at the Senior Bowl and the dynamic quarterback described their conversation as “great.”

Manuel, who ran quite a bit of hurry-up and read-option looks with the Seminoles, believes he would be an ideal fit in whatever variation of the Oregon offense Kelly brings with him to Philadelphia.

The 6-5, 240 lb. quarterback told reporters that Kelly heavily recruited the quarterback during his time at Oregon, but he was hesitant to make the move to Eugene from Virginia.

While it’s unknown if and to what extent the Eagles have interest in Manuel, but he certainly possesses the idea physical attributes for Chip Kelly’s offense.

Manuel completed 68 percent of his passes for 3,392 yards and 23 touchdowns during his senior season in Tallahassee. He added 310 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Here’s a look at the Eagles’ potential draft prospect.
