Jimmy Kempski, who does terrific work heading up Blogging the bEast, is certainly not a casual observer. And he’s illustrated just how hard the injury bug hit the Eagles offensive line in 2012.

Kempski found that the Eagles offensive line missed 1,295 more snaps than the rest of the NFC East combined this past season.

The new-look Eagles have departed from Lehigh and will descend upon the Linc tomorrow night for the first live NFL action of the 2011 preseason. All the story lines and roster moves from this ridiculous, unprecedented offseason are about to become real. Joe Flacco will be throwing passes against Nnamdi Asomugma and Asante Samuel. Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown will be on opposing sidelines. Vince Young will tossing balls to Johnny Lee Higgins and 23 year old Alex Henery will be lining up for kickoffs. Am I ready for some football? Oh yeah. I’m ready.

Before we get into what fans should keep on eye on during the game, let’s take a look at what fans won’t be seeing:

by Ryan Thompson

While the NFL Lockout situation still remains up in the air, we know one thing for certain: the NFL draft will take place Thursday night at Radio City Music Hall, and Andy Reid will once again be put in the hot seat.

Many people expect the Eagles to select an offensive lineman with the 23rd pick in this year’s draft, hoping to fill a void in a group that allowed Eagles quarterbacks to be slammed to the turf 49 times in 2010, good for 4th most in the NFL.

However, based on Reid’s success rate in drafting game-changing offensive linemen since taking over as head coach twelve years ago, one has to wonder if using a first round pick on that position is such a good idea.
