Eagles fans might have long-term hope as they enter a new era under the direction of offensive savant Chip Kelly, but Las Vegas bookmakers are a little less optimistic about Kelly’s first season ending with a championship as he looks to rebuild the team back into a title contender.

The 49ers, who fell five yards short of taking the lead in the final moments of last night’s game, will enter the 2013 season at 8-1 odds to win Super Bowl XLVIII. So just who does Vegas believe is the most likely team to be standing on the podium at MetLife Stadium come early next February?

The Patriots. Gets old, doesn’t it?

As for the Eagles, Vegas pencils them in at 50-1 odds, highlighting sobering reality that betting experts believe there are 19 teams more likely to win a championship than Kelly’s squad next season. The Eagles sit behind the Giants (20-1), Cowboys (30-1), and Redskins (30-1) in the NFC East. Here’s the full list.
