10 Browns other than Myles Garrett who could fuel a Week 6 upset over the Eagles

Myles Garrett is a problem, but he isn't the only problem the Eagles will have with this Browns team come Sunday.

He's one of those guys that makes you feel like you're watching a one of the greats. He's been that good. Even though we spend our days and nights waiting for the next Philadelphia Eagles update, it doesn't take much to get lost in what Myles Garrett is doing in Cleveland.

He has been a model of consistency for a Browns organization that never is. The first overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. Garrett was selected out of Texas A&M during a selection meeting that was ironically hosted in Philly. We've been watching him craft a resume that's worthy of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's attention ever since.

Myles Garrett isn't the only Browns star the Eagles have to worry about in Week 6.

Garrett has appeared in 105 regular-season games with 102 starts and has also started three postseason games. Tally his production in both, and you land at 320 total tackles, 93.5 sacks, and 182 additional QB hits.

Garrett has also broken up 16 passes and forced 19. He has recovered five fumbles and returned one for a TD. A spot on the Pro Football Writers Association (2017), an NFL Defensive Player of the Year trophy (2023), and five Pro Bowl nods (2018, 2020-23) have been his reward.

He has also earned three First-Team All-Pro nods (2020, 2021, and 2023) and a pair of Second-Team All-Pro mentions (2018, 2022). We mentioned this guy was good, right?

Winning in Week 6 becomes easier if the Eagles don't let him go off, but that shouldn't come as a surprise. Here are ten other Browns who had better be the topic of conversations in Philly's positional meetings as they all can have an outcome on the game's result come Sunday.

Deshaun Watson, quarterback

Yeah, he's struggling and has been sacked 26 times. Those types of things never seem to help Philly much. They can make the most average player look like Joe Montana.

We wouldn't take this guy for granted. He has only played Philly once, back in 2018. But, he threw for 339 yards and two TDs on 29 of 40 passing. We know that guy is still in there somewhere.

Amari Cooper, wide receiver

We have all entertained fantasies about seeing this guy in an Eagles jersey. This week, he's the enemy though. After watching Mike Evans torch the Birds in Week 4, Philly will again have their hands full with one of the best wide receivers in the game.

Jerry Jeudy, wide receiver

Don't forget about this guy. Jerry Jeudy is a former top-15 draft choice. Things didn't work out for him in Denver. He thought he'd earn a fresh start in Cleveland. So far, it hasn't happened.

Some of that is the result of having bad quarterbacks toss him the football in both cities. Pay attention to him though. The Eagles have, at times, allowed great

Jack Conklin, right tackle

A hamstring injury led to Jack Conklin being a limited participant at Browns practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He was a full participant on Friday. He's expected to play, but it will be interesting to see how effective he is as this is the first time he's been off the injury list since the season opener.

David Njoku, tight end

David Njoku is expected to play and has been working his way back from injury. He looked great as a blocker and receiver this week, so he could do work as both a blocker and receiver.

Expect to see a lot of Jordan Akins if he has any issues.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, linebacker

The Browns have only tallied one interception on the season. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is the guy who hauled it in. He's a very good linebacker who also has a sack, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble on the resume.

He leads the Browns in bot total (39) and solo tackles (27). Philly will need to keep tabs on him at all times.

Za'Darius Smith, defensive end

Myles Garrett gets a ton of attention as one of the game's top pass rushers. Za'Darius Smith is pretty good too. Together, they have tallied 22 tackles and seven sacks with 13 of those tackles and three of those sacks belonging to Smith. Keep an eye on him come Sunday.

Rodney McLeod Jr., safety

Here's a familiar face. Rodney McLeod Jr. returns to the City of Brotherly Love for the first time as an opponent since the 2014 season. He was a member of the Saint Louis Rams then. Philly most recently saw him in Week 11 of the 2022 NFL season during a one-point win over the Indianapolis Colts.

McLeod is the consummate professional, one who will always hold a special place in the hearts of Birds fans. Right now, however, he's the enemy, for a week anyway. Ronnie Hickman hasn't participated in Browns practice due to an ankle injury. If he doesn't go, we'll see a lot of McLeod on Sunday.

Shelby Harris, defensive tackle

Shelby Harris is a six-foot-two, 288-pounder who figures to make interior running plays more difficult for the Eagles rushing attack. So far this season, he has notched 12 total tackles. Five were solo. He has also batted a pass and forced a fumble.

Greg Newsome, cornerback

The 'Dynamic Duo' AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith return in Week 6. Greg Newsome has his plate full especially without Denzel Ward being available.

These are the matchups that help decide games. The Birds have an advantage here and need to exploit it.

Also keep your eyes on the following:

  • RB Jerome Ford
  • CB Denzel Ward
  • DT Dalvin Tomlinson

Ford has kind of been on the precipice of a breakout game. He just keeps struggling to find holes to run through. Denzel Ward is questionable. Dalvin Tomlinson is awesome at stuffing the run. He, Tomlinson, and Garrett are big parts of why the team is third in pass rush win rate in the league so far.
