Dave:
The San Diego Chargers just cut ties with two cornerbacks on the 2013 roster, Derek Cox and Johnny Patrick, and they’re not brimming with talent at that position as is. Jason Verrett, formerly of TCU, is 5-foot-9 but makes up for being undersized with exceptional cover skills and blazing speed (including a 4.38 forty yard dash). He also finished with a 39 inch vertical, showing he could match up with taller receivers.

Giorgos:
Jason Verrett is higher in my draft board than Darqueze Dennard, but the surgery he is going to have to repair his torn labrum would hurt his draft stock. The San Diego Chargers secondary has been inconsistent and the team decided to part ways with cornerback Derek Cox. Verrett could start from day one  in San Diego. He shows excellent recognition skills, stays with his receiver and doesn’t force the interception. He needs to improve against the run and probably add some muscle.
