Dave:
Sammy Watkins embodies what is often one of the most overused, but important, terms a wide receiver can be given; he’s extremely dynamic. While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could certainly go elsewhere with the seventh spot, head Coach Lovie Smith’s last job was with the Chicago Bears with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery at wide receiver. He understands you need more than one receiver to win, and Watkins fits perfectly across from Vincent Jackson.
Giorgos:
Wide receiver is not the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ biggest need, but they should be smart enough to know that Watkins is a rare player. The Bucs lack quality targets for Mike Glennon (or whoever their starting quarterback will be in 2014) and receivers like Watkins don’t come very often. Apart from being an explosive wideout, Watkins is a Swiss knife – you can line him up all over the field, send him on a go route or in a screen. He is an excellent route runner and dropped balls are not a common phenomenon. His presence will also help Vincent Jackson, who won’t be the center of attention for defenses anymore.
