Now there is a persistent rumor that is hanging around for the past two days. The reason I say hanging around is that there have been no reports that the Eagles were NOT still looking at recently released Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey. Watch as Adam Lefkoe and Bleacher Report NFL Analyst Chris Simms discuss Bailey’s market in the video. Maybe Bailey could transition to safety and train Eagles safety Earl Wolff some tricks of the trade. Could the Eagles get Bailey at a good value? I don’t see how it’s possible but no one has mentioned that the ship has sailed yet. So we wait.
The field for pass rushers is thinning almost by the minute. The Minnesota Vikings just signed their defensive end to a multi-year contract before the Eagles could even look his way. Unless the Eagles can pull a rabbit out their hat so to speak, it looks like they will have to pick up a quality pass rusher in the draft.
And that is it for today. Not a lot to work with but the Eagles are playing things close to the vest. Stay tuned tomorrow to see if we can dig anything else up about the Birds’ plans for the future.
