21. Green Bay Packers
Eric Ebron
Tight End, North Carolina

Previously: Louis Nix III (Nose Tackle, Notre Dame)

Giorgos:

The signing of Owen Daniels by the Baltimore Ravens gives the Green Bay Packers the option to draft Eric Ebron. Ebron is an athletic tight end with decent speed and good hands. He is fearless in the middle and fights to get yards after the catch. He needs to improve his run blocking and ideally become a better route runner. Other than that, he is a solid pick and can thrive in the Packers’ offense.

Dave:

This pick makes too much sense to ignore in the wake of Jermichael Finley’s scary injury and departure from the Packers. Ebron has been compared to Vernon Davis, and the loss of wide receiver James Jones to the Oakland Raiders surely means that Mike McCarthy is interested in adding more weapons for Aaron Rodgers to play with. At this value, it’s impossible to pass on Ebron here.
