Left Tackle Jason Peters versus right defensive end Cory Redding

Cory Redding is a twelve year NFL veteran defensive lineman, who stands 6’4″ and weighs in at 318 pounds.   He’ll be looking Jason Peters in the eye throughout the game, and gives up a mere ten pounds to the heavier pro bowl offensive tackle.  Redding has had a colorful NFL career, playing for the Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens and finally the Colts.   His value is consistency, averaging nearly three sacks per season and better than two tackles per game.

Consistent or not, this match-up favors the Eagles.  Peters remains a dominating offensive lineman who has not failed to step up when the Eagles need him to do so.   With steadfast guard Evan Mathis out, look for Peters to take his game to the next level.   The Colts will likely counter this match-up with blitzes from the blind side to test the Eagles protection and line communication.  Peters is savvy, and will seldom make mistakes.
