Inside the Iggles staff brings you their NFL Week 4 predictions: Eagles @ 49ers. We have writers from various parts of the world. Yes, there are Eagles fans everywhere. As it should be. With such a diverse staff we decided to collaborate on the prediction of tonight’s game. Each writer offers their prediction of the game and the reason why. Agree or disagree, these guys have put a lot of thought and research into their NFL Week predictions.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a street-fight of a win against division rival Washington Redskins. They came from behind once again for the third week in a row for the win. The late-game rally came after a “cheap-shot” to Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was delivered by Redskins lineman Chris Baker. He denies it was a cheap shot but unless you are the NFL or any Redskins fan you know the truth.

The Philadelphia Eagles are facing their toughest opponent yet this season. The Eagles have scored a total of 101 points so far this season to the San Francisco 49er’s 62. On paper, it looks like it could be an easy win for the Birds. The 49ers offense has struggled and quarterback Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played like his usual self either. I don’t think this game will be as easy as it appears “on paper.”

The Eagles have a slew of injuries they are dealing with. They will be without offensive linemen Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson. On the defensive side of the ball they are missing linebacker Mychal Kendricks who has really stepped up this season. Eagles defensive lineman and first round draft pick Marcus Smith will be key in this game but he isn’t quite ready yet. But if the Eagles are to have any luck against the threat of Kaepernick’s run he will need to have a big game.

The Eagles defense have given up a lot of points so far this season. They currently rank 8th with 78 points allowed. They’ve been behind in every game but have somehow managed to come back. Their offense, led by quarterback Nick Foles has been able to rack up the points in the second half. But this time I don’t think they’ll be able to do it. I believe the 49ers will exploit the Eagles defense to the point of no return.
