Running Back Stevan Ridley

Although his 2014 campaign in New England ended with a terrible knee injury, running back Stevan Ridley is just 25-years old and a very talented player. He’ll likely have to settle for a “prove-it” type of deal that has little or even no guaranteed money. But with the questions surrounding LeSean McCoy‘s future in Philadelphia and Chris Polk set to hit free agency, Ridley may be worth a look for the Eagles.

He clearly has the talent to be a very successful running back in the NFL. Ridley battled fumble troubles throughout his career in New England, which may worry some fans. On top of recovering from a torn ACL and MCL that ended his season last year. Yet if he’s available for training camp, the birds should absolutely give him a call and at least bring Ridley in for a workout to see how he looks.

If everything looks okay and his medical comes out clear, why shouldn’t they give him a shot? He’s a hard-nosed, physical runner that would add an interesting dynamic to the Eagles’ stable of running backs. Many don’t want to think about this potential scenario, but if for some reason LeSean McCoy doesn’t return to Philadelphia next season or in 2016, it’d be nice to have a running back with starting experience to replace him for the time being.

Ridley certainly raises his fair share of red flags but if everything checks out okay, there’s no reason why he couldn’t land in Philadelphia next season.
