Measurables
Cam Thomas has incredible size for the cornerback position. He fits the bill for the new age prototype at the position that almost every team is looking for. Thomas stands 6-2 and weighs in at 195 lbs. But according to one of his latest tweets, he’s gotten his weight up to 200 lbs. At the East-West Shrine Game, Thomas also had his arm length and hand size measured.
With 32 1/4″ arm length, that gives him longer arms than the average cornerback, according to Mockdraftable. But he has smaller hands than the average cornerback with just 8 5/8″ hands. Thomas certainly has the build the Eagles are looking for in the secondary, it’s just a matter of if they like what they see on film or not as well.
Prior to the 2014 season, CBS Sports NFL Draft Analyst Dane Brugler had the following to say regarding Thomas and his strengths as a draft prospect heading into his final year in college:
"Built well for the position with a tall, long frame to play press and get physical in the run game. Tough-minded and confident player who isn’t afraid of taking chances. Effort isn’t a question defending the ground game."
