Sam Bradford is now a Philadelphia Eagle. I can honestly say I did not see that coming. What is Philadelphia Eagles head coach thinking. And judging from the Twitterverse, no one else did either. And I can count how many people like it on one hand.
Inside the Iggles staff writer Giorgos Kassakos chose to take the optimistic road. I’ll give him credit, I am not sure I can wrap my head around it all right now. He’s right, though. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is smart, probably smarter than at least 90% the current NFL head coaches. (That’s not intended to offend any of the other coaches)
But Twitter blew up with the announcement that Bradford was being traded for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles. To quote an old movie line, “there was a disturbance in the force” and it was coming from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Until that moment Philly seemed excited and optimistic. Some of my favorite tweets:
Those are just a small sample of some unhappy Philadelphia Eagles fans. I have to admit, right now the Eagles future looks pretty bleak. The decision to trade a marginal quarterback and remove $700,000 from your cap space and add a fragile, broken quarterback and $13 million to your cap space is mind boggling.
