Owen Lloyd’s Prediction:
Byron Jones, Cornerback, Connecticut
Jones hit the media spotlight after posting freakish broad and vertical jump numbers at the Combine. After teams viewed his tape, he emerged as a first round talent heading into the draft. The Philadelphia Eagles have met him during the draft process and like what they can see in terms of his measurable, talent, scheme fit and character. Jones is by no means a polished prospect, but he plays with an aggressiveness that has been missing in the secondary, particularly when defending in the red zone. It’s a solid, not flashy, pick that fills one of the Eagles’ biggest needs.
