Mychal Kendricks, Inside Linebacker

When the Philadelphia Eagles traded running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for inside linebacker Kiko Alonso, many were giddy at the thought of Kiko and Mychal Kendricks being paired together. The duo of Kendricks and Kiko would be a force for many years to come, but as things started to unfold it looked more and more likely that the team would trade Kendricks in favor of veteran DeMeco Ryans. The draft and minicamp came and went and Kendricks is still on the roster for now but this raises more questions than it answers. Will the team hold onto Kendricks? Who will start at ILB?

The Eagles officially have a logjam at the inside linebacker position and it will force a usual starter to ride the bench. Unfortunately, that one usual starter might be Mychal Kendricks. Kendricks since being drafted in 2012 has been a playmaker for the Eagles and has proven to be one of the better players on the team. Injuries have forced Mychal to miss a handful of games in the past two seasons but has still played at a very high level.

The team seems very high on Kiko, but for some reason they are also very high on the aging DeMeco Ryans. Kendricks deserves to start, the pairing of Mychal and Kiko would make the most athletic linebacker duo in the NFL. For now, all we can do is wait and see where the Eagles decide to use Mychal.
