3) Defensive Line

When the Philadelphia Eagles switched from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 almost three years ago, many thought the defensive line would be a huge weakness due to the lack of scheme fit. Now heading into the 2015 season, Eagles have one of the best defensive lines in the entire NFL. This group will once again be a strength of this Eagles team.

The unit is lead by all pro defensive end Fletcher Cox who is still only 24 years old. Cox is a disruptive force and can dominate games at times. The other two starters are defensive end Cedric Thornton and Bennie Logan at nose tackle. Both Thornton and Logan are young and are very good players at their respective positions. Thornton has become one of the best run stuffing 3-4 defensive ends in the entire league, and Logan has improved every year and is a real force at the nose.

Behind the starters are Vinny Curry, Brandon Bair, Taylor Hart, and Beau Allen. Curry finished last season with 9 sacks and 4 forced fumbles despite playing a limited role, Curry can flat out rush the QB and has greatly improved his run support. Bair was a journeyman for a while when he finally landed with the Eagles and his former college coach Chip Kelly and played well last season as a rotational DE. Hart was rookie last season and basically took a redshirt year to get stronger and has gained over 20 lbs for this coming season. Beau Allen brought great depth to the nose tackle spot and looks to be a key player this coming season. This defensive line is definitely one of the deeper positions on the team and the entire NFL.
