4) Quarterback

The quarterback position is the most important position in all of sports. There is so much responsibility for a QB on and off the field. The Philadelphia Eagles have been in a kind of QB limbo since the days of Donovan McNabb. This past offseason Chip Kelly made a bold move by sending former pro bowl QB Nick Foles and a second round draft pick to the St. Louis Rams for the former first overall pick Sam Bradford. This is a huge risk since Bradford’s injury history is well documented

The Eagles are taking a chance on a very talented but oft-injured player in Sam, but with Mark Sanchez as the backup that should ease some concerns right? In my opinion I don’t think so. Mark Sanchez is a very serviceable backup, but as a starter for a prolonged period of time I don’t have that much confidence. We all saw firsthand what Mark Sanchez is capable of when given the chance to start for a long period of time. Sanchez had 8 games to prove something when Nick Foles got injured, but as his career thus far, Sanchez was up and down. The team was 9-3, but Sanchez and the Eagles managed to lose 3 out of the last 4 games and lost a playoff spot in the process.

Even with Sanchez backing up Bradford, Mark is no spring chicken. The Eagles are a Bradford setback and an injury to Sanchez away from playing Tim Tebow. I know for a fact that I don’t wanna see Tebow flinging ducks into the stands during meaningful games. The overall health of Sam Bradford is a very interesting storyline and one that should be watched closely this summer and this season. The teams season depends on Sam’s health.
