3. Rookies Flash
Another group that impressed on Sunday was this years rookie class. From the top of class in wide receiver Nelson Agholor, to the bottom in 7th round defensive end Brian Mihalik, each rookie had there moments and flashed some nice potential. This is obviously a good sign to see the young players making plays.
Nelson Agholor got off to a great start by turning his first NFL catch into a 34 yard touchdown. Agholor had a bad drop later on but quickly made up for it with two more catches that he broke off for nice gains. Second round pick corner Eric Rowe looked good in coverage and had a beautiful strip fumble and was in on another strip later in the game.
Third round inside linebacker Jordan Hicks looked comfortable in the defense and made a key block on special teams to spring a punt return touchdown before half time. Sixth round pick corner Randall Evans had a key fumble recovery, and seventh round pick defensive end Brian Mihalik had a nice sack. From top to bottom each rookie had their moments and impressed.
