No. 4: Brian Mitchell
Another used primarily as a returner – and another who had his share of success doing it previously with another divisional rival – Mitchell was simply outstanding in that role for Philadelphia. In fact, after his departure in 2002, the team struggled for years to find a replacement (see Mahe, Reno or Reed, J.R., et al).
But Mitchell was more than just a returner extraordinaire – he was the ultimate Swiss army knife: To date, he is one of only two players (stay tuned for the second) to score a touchdown by pass, run, reception and return (both kickoff and punt).
