4 Prospects The Philadelphia Eagles Should Monitor At 2016 NFL Combine
By Ryan Quigley
Paxton Lynch
As I pointed out earlier, the Eagles seem to be one of the logical landing spots for Lynch. If Lynch is still available when the Eagles are on the clock, it’s hard to imagine the team wouldn’t take him.
Lynch improved with every year of his college career at Memphis. Between his 2014 and 2015 campaigns, Lynch threw 50 touchdowns to only 13 interceptions and also added another 15 touchdowns on the ground. He’s an athletic, “throw first” quarterback who typically doesn’t make a lot of silly decisions. He has the strength to break out of would-be sacks and make a play out of nothing.
Lynch is one of the top quarterback prospects in this year’s draft and he may be the Eagles’ more realistic options moving forward. Sam Bradford did not do enough in 2015 to be considered a legitimate franchise quarterback and is not worth the $25 million his agent is asking for. With a good performance at the Combine, Lynch could prove to be a good choice at 13 and the Eagles could have their new quarterback of the future.
