The Philadelphia Eagles Top Quarterback Prospects
By Todd Duvall
Chase Daniel, Kansas City Chiefs
In 2008 Daniel was signed to the Washington Redskins practice squad as an undrafted free agent but was waived shortly thereafter. In 2009 the New Orleans Saints signed him then cut him. But in 2010 he fought for and won the back up position behind Saints quarterback Drew Brees where he stayed until the 2013 season.
He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs where he played for the past three seasons as backup to quarterback Alex Smith. He’s shown flashes of adequacy while under head coach Andy Reid. Now that Reid’s protege, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is in charge could he try to bring Daniel to Philly? He knows what he has in Daniel, does he think he can train him?
And if by chance he does well, the Eagles will have hit a home run.
