DeMarco Murray to Tennessee

In all honesty, a seventh round pick would have been fine in exchange for running back DeMarco Murray. The cap space alone was worth the move. They traded a sulky, ineffective running back who did not want to be in Philadelphia and gained an earlier draft pick in the fourth round. It looks like Eagles head coach Doug Pederson wants players who want to be in Philadelphia.

This isn’t confirmed but rumor has it Murray never wanted to be an Eagle. If true, it would partially explain the lack of production. If someone isn’t happy with their situation it’s difficult to get their best. How else can you explain an 1,143 yard drop off in production in one year? The Eagles offensive line struggled to make holes at times but that was only part of the problem.

Cap Space Created: $9 Million
