Left Defensive End

  1. Vinny Curry
  2. Connor Barwin

This is where the switch to a 4-3 defense may be hard for some to swallow.

Due to the new scheme, Vinny Curry will be the No. 1 left defensive end for the Eagles. Unfortunately, the scheme change puts Connor Barwin at a bit of a disadvantage. Barwin, a natural 3-4 outside linebacker (and a good one at that), will now see a limited amount of snaps as a rotational defensive end. However, Barwin does have experience at defensive end and still brings plenty of upside to the table. He just won’t be quite as impactful as he was in the old 3-4 scheme.

Regardless, the Eagles have two very good players at left defensive end. Curry just received a nice contract extension and will be one of the Eagles’ most important defensive players moving forward.

Graham, Cox, Logan, Curry and Barwin?

Yikes.
