5. Dalvin Cook, running back, Florida State Seminoles

Dalvin Cook has been described, on more than one occasion, as the best running back to ever put on a Florida State Seminoles jersey. There may not be any compliment that we can give him that will be seen as being better than that one. We’ve debated the top three ball carriers on the board all off-season, and as draft day approaches, we’re beginning to become more and more certain about something.

Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey probably won’t be available at the 14th pick.

Fournette may land with the Jacksonville Jaguars. McCaffrey could end up somewhere like the Carolina Panthers. Both of those statements are strong possibilities in the eyes of many, and if we’re correct, the Eagles may have an easy decision on their hands. In his final season in Tallahassee, Cook torched opposing defenses with 1,765 yards, giving him a 6.0 yards-per-carry average. He reached the end zone 19 times and added 33 receptions for 488 yards for good measure. He can score from anywhere on the field, and if he shares the Eagles backfield with quarterback Carson Wentz, the defensive coordinators of every Eagles’ opponent will be staying up late for years to come.

He’s one of the fans’ favorites to hear his name called at pick 14 on Thursday, and he’s our final name on this list. The 2017 NFL Draft is a little over a day away.
