Philadelphia Eagles: 5 prospects who could replace Jordan Matthews
Ryan Switzer, North Carolina
This one is a fan favorite of mine. Switzer could be an intriguing bargain pick in the middle to late rounds of the NFL Draft.
Switzer totaled 96 receptions, 1,112 yards, and six touchdowns with Mitchell Trubisky in his final season at UNC. His quick cuts in the slot allow him to thrive in the slot, becoming a dangerous player in the open field.
His small stature (5’9″, 181 pounds) will hurt his stock, but as a player on the field, Switzer was extremely productive at UNC. I don’t believe his size will hold him back in the NFL. A fair comparison for Switzer would be Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder who stands at an almost identical 5’8″, 182 pounds. Crowder has not only become one of the most dangerous slot receivers in the NFL with Washington, but he has also become a top returner (had a season-long 85-yard return touchdown).
The former Tarheel is also an efficient punt returner, recording two punt return touchdowns in 2015.
