Round 4 (119) Kareem Hunt, running back, Toledo

The Eagles have yet to address the running situation, and as I said previously Ryan Mathews is/isn’t  expected to be released. Even with Mathews on the roster he isn’t reliable to stay healthy. If Mathews goes down the Eagles will only have Darren who isn’t an every down back and Smallwood who is unproven, so adding Hunt would be logical. Hunt was very productive at Toledo, and would be a perfect fit in the Eagles backfield.

Here’s part of his scouting report, provided by NFL.com:

"“Hunt’s 2015 season was one to forget. He was suspended the first two games for violating team rules. He, then, struggled with hamstring and ankle injuries. Somehow, he still amassed 973 yards, and he scored 12 times on 178 carries while playing in just nine games. That won him a nod as second-team All-MAC. Expectations were high going into that season. Hunt finished third in the nation with 163 rush yards per game and by winning first-team All-State honors from Ohio. He received a fair amount of playing time as a freshman, accumulating 866 yards and six scores. Hunt finished his Toledo career on a high note, garnering first-team All-MAC honors for the second time, rushing for 1,475 yards and ten touchdowns while also racking up 41 catches for 403 yards and a score (all receiving numbers bettered his totals in his first three seasons combined.)”"
