Donnel Pumphrey

With Ryan Mathews‘ days in Philadelphia likely over and Darren Sproles soon to retire, it was essential that the Eagles selected a running back at some point during this draft. While Pumphrey isn’t necessarily a household name, he finished his four-year career at San Diego State with 6,290 career rushing yards, an FBS record.

At 5’9″ and just 178 pounds, it’s unlikely Pumphrey will be relied upon to carry the load for Philadelphia in 2017. He is more than likely set to become the heir apparent for Sproles when he eventually calls it quits.

Pumphrey is an outstanding playmaker and if he becomes half the player Sproles is, the Eagles will have gotten themselves a steal.
