Linebacker

  1. Jordan Hicks
  2. Nigel Bradham
  3. Najee Goode
  4. Joe Walker
  5. Nate Gerry

Jordan Hicks and Nigel Bradham were outstanding in 2016 and they will once again be the Eagles’ top two contributors at linebacker. It will be interesting to see who slots in behind them.

Najee Goode has been a solid backup for the Eagles in recent years and it wouldn’t be surprising if he returned to play that role again in 2017. Joe Walker was having a terrific summer last season before suffering a torn ACL in training camp. If he can stay healthy, there will be a place for him on the roster. Nate Gerry, who the team selected in fifth round of this year’s draft, played safety in college but will make the transition to linebacker this summer. He figures to be a major contributor on special teams.

Mychal Kendricks is missing from this list because it seems the Eagles simply don’t need or want him any longer. He played in only a quarter of the team’s defensive snaps last season and, when he was on the field, didn’t play all that well. The Eagles would be better off without him on the roster.
