Is it truly possible to be this excited about Sidney Jones knowing that he probably won’t be playing in 2017?

If you missed last week’s conversation between Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Sidney Jones and the media, don’t fret. You didn’t miss much. Jones sat down during rookie minicamp to verbally express everything we already knew. Eleven or so minutes didn’t consist of anything too exciting. We got the skinny on the team’s decision not to rush him back and his impatience about getting on the field. He was even asked about his excitement to get on the field and line up against some of the all-star receivers of the NFC East. His response? “Big time players make big time plays in big games”. Did we mention the fact that it was a boring press conference?

The excitement that was lacking in Jones’ presser is in no way an indication of the excitement that has surrounded his addition to the Eagles defense. Every NFL team knew there was virtually no chance of seeing him on the field for the 2017 season, and knowing that, the Eagles took him anyway. His team, fans and coaches are excited.

We even took a moment to list a few reasons why we’re pumped over here at Inside The Iggles. Click on the slideshow to continue.
