Don’t expect him to take a chill pill as he sits out during the 2017 season.
As a competitor, you have to know sitting out is eating Mr. Jones alive. What if we told you that there was still an outside shot of seeing him play in the Eagles colors this season? Impossible you say? Well, hold your horses. Ian Rapoport tweeted out a copy of a medical report that outlined a four to six month timeline for Jones’ recovery process. Don’t believe us? Take a look.

During his rookie minicamp press conference, Jones seemed frustrated when he described his experience as being limited to mental reps. No, he won’t rush to get back on the field, and he shouldn’t. No, the Eagles aren’t going to allow him onto the field before he’s one hundred percent healthy. Further injury would be catastrophic, but competitors want to play.
Expect Jones to do everything in his power to speed up the rehabilitation process and get into the lineup as quickly as possible. Who knows? If it gets late into the season and games no longer matter, you may see the 2017 NFL Draft‘s 43rd-overall selection in the lineup earlier than imagined. That way, he can finally get a feel of the NFL game.
No one’s going to complain if that happens.
