Its been a rough two years for Philadelphia Eagles receiver Nelson Agholor. Could this be the year he finally turns things around?

The Philadelphia Eagles and their fanbase had high hopes for 2015 first-round draft pick Nelson Agholor. He was coming off a big season at USC, being named first-team All-Pac-12. When he was brought on to the roster, he was expected to replace former Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin.

Unfortunately, Agholor’s career with the Eagles hasn’t been exactly ideal for a first-round pick. After just two years, the fan base has been quick to write him off as a bust. He has 648 total yards with three touchdowns.

On Tuesday, the Eagles took the field with rookies and veterans for the first time this offseason. While everyone has their eyes on the newly acquired receivers Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, Agholor was the player who got a lot of buzz on Tuesday. A few videos have been posted on Twitter showing receivers working on drills with new receiver coach, Mike Groh.

While this video focuses more on Dorial Green-Beckham messing up, you can see Agholor (13) run quick with clean cuts, make the catch and secure the ball. This wasn’t the only report of Agholor having a great first day. Plenty of other Eagles writers have tweeted out that Agholor is making some impressive plays during 11-on-11s. In fact, it appears Agholor hasn’t even dropped a pass yet, which was his major flaw last season.

It’s hard to get excited about a player during OTAs, but some progression from Agholor is exactly what Eagles fans want to hear. This season he will most likely be out of the starting lineup, but his limited workload could really benefit him. While defenses will have all eyes on players like Jeffery, Smith and Matthews, Agholor could excel in his limited role at receiver. Having a new and experienced wide receivers coach could also benefit Agholor big time. At this point in his career, he knows he needs to get things going sooner than later. This could be the season that defines Agholor’s future in the NFL.
