1. Saquon Barkley, Penn State Nittany Lions

Words like “stud”, “workhorse” and “every-down back” are already being used to describe Saquon Barkley of the Penn State Nittany Lions. That alone should get the Eagles’ attention. Standing at five-foot-eleven and weighing in at 223 pounds, Barkley carries it all well. NFL scouts and coaches have already had the game tape of his 202-yard performance against the Maryland Terrapins and his 207-yard effort against the Purdue Boilermakers on repeat. The latter consisted of an 81-yard scamper and two touchdowns.

Those that weren’t familiar with him got a healthy dose during last year’s Rose Bowl. It was on one of college football’s biggest stages that Mr Barkley showcased one of his greatest performances. Penn State would lose on that evening, but Barkley’s 249 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns had nothing to do with the result.

Expect some equally explosive performances during the 2017 season. Expect to hear his name a lot when draft talk begins and for the Eagles to give him a workout.
